Is Blood Magick Evil?

Blood magick is one the other most ancient, potent and personal forms of magic. It is often shrouded in mystery and controversy because of its connection to life (and well, blood.) Blood Magick, just like most forms of magick, is about intentions, sacrifice and the connection between your spirit and your spellwork.

As we all know, blood is essentially your "life" in a liquid form. It carries all the nutrients, oxygen and energy we need. In magickal terms, blood is a "vital essence" which makes it a direct channel to your will and intention. When used in magick, even a single drop can amplify your spell, creating un unbreakable bond between you and your intention. If you've ever used any of our products, you'd know we always say to use your jewellery/oil for 30 days straight so that your aura can blend with the essence of the spell and the camera. Essentially, blood magick is the same but your "aura" is a tangible item this time.

Blood is sacred in many cultures and spiritual traditions. It symbolises:

• The cycles of life and death
• Oaths, vows and soul contracts
• Power sacrifice and devotion
• Ancestral lineage and inherited power

When used properly with respect, blood magick becomes a powerful tool for transformation, allowing the practitioner to tie their energy to the work on an elemental level.

Here are some "rules" to using blood magick:

• As with all forms of magick, blood magick should be handled with deep respect and clear boundaries.
• Don't EVER use someone else's blood without their consent. 
• Your blood acts like a spiritual signature so you MUST be crystal clear and committed to what you're casting
• If you choose to use your blood, ensure it's done in a sterile and safe way

If you've seen Bambi's interviews, you'll know that she used to use her menstrual blood in her blood magick spells. Many witches do so as it is naturally shed which makes it more energetically potent. It holds creative, lunar and life-giving energies, making it ideal for fertility work, intuitive development and emotional healing. 

Unlike herbs or candle magick, blood carries a lasting energetic imprint. If you cast a spell using your blood, you are permamently energetically linked to that working. This makes blood magick ideal for spells that you want to bind to your fate or karma but it also means you must be sure your intention. 

Because of the amount of energy that will be exchangesd, any rituals involving blood should be following by a thorough energetic cleansing and grounding in the form of meditations of closing prayer to prevent lingering energetic ties or even exhaustion. 

Blood magick isn't for everyone but for those who are called to it, it offers a raw, primal and intimate form of spiritual expression in a world where magick can feel diluted or aestheticised.
